BACKGROUND: Bane was born to serve a life sentence for his father, and while in prison, he rose to the top of the food chain. Because of this, he was selected as a test subject for the drug called Venom. It enhanced his physical prowess and eventually, he escaped the jail, and turned his ambitions to destroying Batman. |

Bane succeeded and actually broke Batman’s back in their first encounter. Later, Bane actually teamed up with Batman after this incident, causing a momentary truce. Bane united with Ra’s al Ghul, and went back to scrap with Batman, but was defeated. Almost every battle with the Dark Knight ends in a draw. SMUDGE SAYS: If you’ve seen that pile of dogshit movie Batman and Robin, then you’ve seen Bane at his worst. This guy was not done any justice in the film. He’s a Genius-level smashing machine, and he actually left Batman a paraplegic for a story arc. Bane is badass. He’s rarely suffered a defeat, and when he does he can escape his confines in prison whenever he wants. Bane is a top caliber villain that can hang with the finest heroes. |
