BACKGROUND: Spidey, in his illustrious career, has faced everyone. He's battled his usual enemies, like Green Goblin, Rhino, and Mysterio, but he's also had some epic tilts with Hulk, Punisher, Wolverine. Spider-Man always seems to take a good beating, but he comes out on top in the end. Not only does he take a solid ass-kicking, but he manages to insult his opponents with stinging one-liners along the way. |

SMUDGE SAYS: Spidey can lay claim to having the second-most successful hero movie franchise, second to the rebooted Batman series. The thing that disappoints me about that series is the butchering of Venom, and the fact that Green Goblin chews up screen time in two of the movies. Some credit must be given to Spider-Man with the company of women he keeps. He's married to Mary Jane, had relations with Gwen Stacey, and hangs out with Black Cat. Not too bad Mr. Parker. |
