100 Must-See Movies For Guys - In the 100 Must-See Movies For Guys list, story and character development are generally secondary to explosions, fist fights, gunplay and car chases. The heroes are involved a series of challenges that require physical feats to overcome obstacles and impossible odds. Eventually, more times than not in the classic scenario, the good becomes triumphant over evil.

100. Boondock Saints
Boondock Saints - Troy Duffy was the chosen one back in 1999 when he was given the opportunity to make his vision. Unfortunately for him, the film underperformed, and his way-after-the-fact sequel sits comfortably in my "5 Worst Movies of All Time" list. Seriously, the sequel is like a bunch of grade 8 kids wrote it. And, it even takes away from the fun of the original.
99. Clerks
Clerks - Convenience store worker, deals with odd customers, Video store friend helps out, plays hockey, splits up with girlfriend, gets back with old ex. "Stoner" comedy which is basically a film of short sketches based around the store, some work, some don't & then it all more or less comes together at the end. This movie has laugh out loud moments throughout, and it was the starting point for Kevin Smith.
98. True Lies
True Lies – What more can you ask for – a high-budget action film combined with a battle-of-the-sexes comedy. True Lies has well-crafted action scenes so unique to the human eye and the net-result is a fun for the family film.
97. Speed
Speed – Speed was boss back in the day. Keanu Reeves gets down to business right away in this flick and the thrills never stop with Dennis Hopper in full control. It's a smart, inventive thriller that starts with hostages trapped on an elevator and continues with two chases - one on a bus, one on a subway - so that it's wall-to-wall with... Chases.
96. Oh Brother Where Art Thou?
Oh Brother Where Art Thou? - A trio of escaped prisoners (Clooney, Nelson, Turturro) embark on the adventure of a lifetime . “Oh Brother Where Art Thou?” is a quirky, movie loosely based on Homer's Odyssey, that constantly changes from drama, to comedy, to musical.
95. Hot Fuzz
Hot Fuzz - Hot Fuzz takes on the buddy-cop genre for you, and you'll love it. It succeeds as an action, mystery, and comedy movie all at the same time, and superbly.
94. Half Baked
Half Baked - An adventure of three potheads trying to find cash to bail their friend out of jail. This movie has non-stop laughter - not just for stoners - but it doesn't hurt to be one. It’s a classic cult film...before Dave Chapelle was THE Dave Chappelle.
93. Natural Born Killers
Natural Born Killers – What’s to say? Natural Born Killers is an intense, in-your-face look at violence. Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis make the perfect killer couple. Oliver Stone hits you in the face as hard as he can with this flick.
92. Platoon
Platoon - Before Charlie Sheen became the coke-head with a penchant for prostitutes, he played the innocent in the Oliver Stone directed Platoon. Oddly enough, Willem Dafoe plays a kind Sergeant, and not so oddly, Tom Berenger plays a psychotic Staff Sergeant. Solid Vietnam war flick.
91. Gran Torino
Gran Torino - Clint Eastwood plays Walt Kowalski, an old, grumpy, widowed, racist, war veteran living in a run-down suburb of Michigan. Despite his past experiences from the Korean war, Walt defends his Hmong neighbors from gang violence and gets caught up in their lives. The movie shows that despite a person's preconceived notions about people and life, it is never to late to change for the better.
90. Wild Things
Wild Things – This movie is a cross between a softcore sex film, a soap opera and a trailer park trash drama. I liked it. It has twist upon twist and is chock full of surprises to keep you watching. The cast is good - Denise Richards fun bags are a knock out, and it's always fun to watch Neve Campbell pull out her own teeth with a pair of pliers.
89. Commando
Commando - Ah-Nold's back with another movie on the list. He plays a one man killing machine who is not only good with guns, but is as equally skilled with steam pipes.
88. Swingers
Swingers – Swingers is an ensemble comedy about five guys, all in their twenties, all coping with the mysteries of life and women. Every scene is perfectly executed. Every line is instantly relatable, at least for guys. This is probably the only movie I can watch 100 times and not get tired of. Bravo Favreau.
87. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off - Come on. This movie is such a classic it's ridiculous. It can be watched over and over again. A film about three friends who skip school and run amok for the day. This movie makes the 80's great, and makes your own world look a bit more fun.
86. The Shining
The Shining - Heeeeere's Johnny! Each scene is meticulously crafted to perfection as only Kubrick can. Though not a huge hit when it came out, it has continued to earn new fans, and maintain it's old ones.
85. The Great Escape
The Great Escape - Steve McQueen heads of gang of the most determined POWs in Germany. They come up with the most kick ass plan to finally topple the Nazi force keeping them contained. It was essentially the predecessor for the show Prison Break.
84. Highlander
Highlander - Does the saying "There can be only one." mean anything to you? Ask any 80's film fan what movie that's from and he'll sit you down and give you a long explanation about decapitations, the quickening, and how Sean Connery was somehow a Spaniard in that movie.
83. Slap Shot
Slap Shot – Slapshot is about a failing ice hockey team headed by Paul Newman as they find success using unparalleled violence during their games. This one belongs on the list of the greatest sports comedies ever made, and the film was heightened by the famous Hanson brothers.
82. Lethal Weapon
Lethal Weapon - They don't make em like this anymore –the unabashed macho testosterone of Mel Gibson mixed with gently puppy dog-eyed Danny Glover. It is indeed very fast paced and has some great action sequences. The only thing that makes this movie even better is the fact that while everyone thought Mel was this crazy/cool guy, he was incognito as a Bigot Mcgee.
81. Rounders
Rounders - Never before has a movie lost so many people so much money. To this day, Rounders is the only movie about poker that is good. It made millions of people think that with a lot of practice and a little luck, they too could become a God of the Green felt.
